In addition, this position will also provide hands-on consultation and modeling experience to other large initiatives within the Bond/IT space.  Focus is on the development of an end to end information architecture and strategy, playing a lead role on projects by providing the appropriate data architecture solutions and ensuring alignment with the overall data management strategies.<br><br><br><br>WORK EXPERIENCE:<br><br>Experience in:<br><br>creating and maintaining end to end data architectures<br><br>logical, access, and physical, data modeling<br><br>normalized and dimensional data modeling techniques<br><br>data analysis and mapping<br><br>the creation and usage of metadata<br><br>Working knowledge of modeling tools (e.g., Computer Associates (CA) AllFusion: ERWIN Model Manager, IBM Rational Suite, Rational (RSA &    RDA)<br><br>Hands-on technical experience using data warehouse, business intelligence and analytics products<br><br>Excellent communication and facilitation skill<br><br>Team oriented with excellent collaboration skills<br><br>Attention to detail, and a commitment to quality work<br><br>Exhibits leadership qualities<br><br>Experience working in a matrixed organization.<br><br>Experience in Property Casualty insurance, Bond and Financial Products a plus.<br><br>Strong access modeling/SQL Query skills leaning towards the physical data modeling practice a plus.<br><br><br><br>PRIMARY DUTIES:<br><br>Define Bond data architecture vision, strategy, principles and standards; get buy-in from stake-holders, management, business partners, and propagate throughout the division based on corporate guidelines and procedures.<br><br>Provide framework, stewardship, governance and decision making for management of data for project development teams, business users and other stake-holders.<br><br>Serve as an expert resource on matters of data architecture to business and IT staff in all phases of data warehouse and data mart development, implementation and support.<br><br>Provide guidance to development application areas by applying knowledge of data warehouse design, extract-transform-load (ETL) design and development.<br><br>Balance short-term versus long-term actions, strategic versus tactical requirements, while continuing to move forward towards the strategic vision. Establish an architecture roadmap covering transactional, operational and business intelligence.  Ensure architectural adherence through blueprint and design reviews.<br><br>Incorporate into Bond the enterprise data management methodology and standards for data modeling and data architecture.<br><br>Create appropriate standards, processes and tools to promote and facilitate:<br><br>1. Mapping of data sources<br><br>2. Documenting interfaces and data movement<br><br>Designing the movement of data through the enterprise:<br><br>1. Establish measures to chart progress related to completeness and quality of meta-data for enterprise information, to support reduction of data redundancy and fragmentation, elimination of unnecessary movement of data, and improvement of data quality.<br><br>4. Provide input on large-scale projects and road maps for compatibility with the vision.<br><br>5. Drive selection of data management tools, and the development of standards, usage guidelines and procedures for those tools.<br><br>6.
