Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

$94,400.00 – $155,800.00

What Is the Opportunity?

As part of the Claim Communications, Marketing & CX team, your role is to bring innovative concepts to life through the creation of compelling visuals. This position offers the chance to refine your design skills and expand your creative scope through diverse assignments, all while contributing to and learning from the team’s collective goals. Your enthusiasm for creativity and excellence will be key in driving the team’s success and fostering an environment of innovation and quality.
As a Lead Graphic Designer, you will design and execute visual materials for internal and external channels which includes presentations, digital, video, and print. You will frequently collaborate with leaders, colleagues and vendors to achieve the highest level of design and produce and present the best possible work.

What will you do?

  • Support senior leadership presentation development for external and high-profile internal audiences.
  • Translate high-level business objectives and abstract ideas into compelling visual narratives that drive stakeholder engagement
  • Adhere to Travelers’ visual identity standards across brand touchpoints ensuring consistency, impact and resonance with target audience.
  • Develop content for delivery across a variety of platforms and media, including PowerPoint decks, stand-alone illustrations, motion graphics, type and brand treatments.
  • Coordinate with team, vendors and other functions for all aspects of production for print, visual or digital materials.
  • Support video production by providing illustrations and other effects; and providing input on concepts, storyboards and/or shot sheet based on project.
  • Maintain working knowledge of new trends and tools related to graphic design and illustration.
  • Provide guidance to team members and ensure all visuals are aligned with Travelers brand guidelines and follow internal approval processes.
  • Support/supervise graphic design production work performed outside of the team as needed.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Demonstrated professional maturity and consultative skills when collaborating with Claim C-suite and other senior leaders to transform complex strategic concepts into easily understandable, visually impactful presentations.
  • Proven experience working with all organizational levels with the ability to balance receptiveness to feedback with providing expert design guidance that elevates their messaging.
  • Minimum seven years’ progressive experience in digital and graphic design, with demonstrated expertise in developing executive-level presentation material.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Expert knowledge of and experience working in with common graphic design tools such as Adobe Premier, After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop, Blender, and html. This includes comfort creating video effects to support videographer.
  • Portfolio showcasing sophisticated visual storytelling that simplifies complex business concepts.
  • Expert-level project management skills; ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while ensuring team meets and manages deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, as a team member and as a team lead.

What is a Must Have?

  • Five years of experience in digital and graphic design.
