AI in Recruiting
Travelers uses Fetch, an AI-powered sourcing tool provided by HiredScore (a Workday company), for one primary purpose: to help our recruiters find people who have previously applied to one of our open jobs in order to invite them to apply for other open jobs for which they may be a good fit. When we post a new job, Fetch compares the job’s requirements with the resumes and candidate profiles of prior applicants and suggests those that may be a good fit, so that our recruiters can consider them. Fetch does not contact anyone, reject anyone, or make hiring decisions. A recruiter reviews these suggestions and decides whether to reach out.
Fetch uses information you gave us when you applied, including your resume and candidate profile. This includes your job titles and work experience, skills, education, certifications, languages, industry, and location (to estimate your distance from the job). It also considers the status of your past applications with us and how recently and often you have applied, to estimate how likely you are to be interested in the role.
In deciding which candidates to suggest, Fetch eliminates profiles that do not meet the job’s basic requirements, such as a minimum number of years of experience or a required degree. It then determines the best matches amongst the remaining profiles, based on how closely they match the job. The result is a short list of potential candidates, along with a summary of how each person’s background matches the job.
Recruiters do not see a numerical score associated with a candidate. The order in which Fetch recommends candidates is not material to the recruiter’s decision regarding which candidates are invited to apply. Candidates whose resumes are not “fetched” are free to apply at any time for open roles posted by the Company. Not being “fetched” is never counted against them.
You will be asked to decide if you would like to be included in this process when you apply to a position. However, you may opt out of Fetch at any time by emailing 4-ESU@travelers.com. If you opt out, you will not be automatically suggested to recruiters through Fetch. You can still apply for any current or future job with us, and your application will be reviewed through our standard hiring process. The Company will not take any action against you for opting out of Fetch or for exercising any of your rights under applicable law. Opting out will not be counted against you in any hiring decision.
