Enrollment in a Travelers medical plan also unlocks other innovative benefits at no additional cost. Other benefits, like our mental wellness and caregiving support programs, do not require enrollment and are available to you and your family members at no cost.

401(k) savings plan with company match
Employees are immediately eligible to contribute to the Travelers 401(k) plan and may make either pre-tax 401(k) or after-tax Roth 401(k) contributions. Travelers matches employee contributions dollar-for-dollar up to 5% of eligible pay, up to an annual maximum of $8,000.
Company-funded pension plan
Eligible employees are automatically enrolled in the company’s pension plan, which is 100% funded by Travelers. Employees accrue annual pay credits of 2% to 6%, based on age and years of service, as well as quarterly interest credits.
Paying It Forward Savings Program
With the Paying It Forward Savings Program, payments by eligible employees toward their student loans will qualify for company matching contributions to the 401(k) plan.
Flexible spending accounts
Travelers offers both a healthcare spending account and a dependent care spending account that let employees use pre-tax payroll deductions to fund a wide range of qualifying expenses not covered by insurance.
Travelers Canada
Travelers provides financial wellness through Health and Personal Spending Accounts with company contributions up to $1,150 based on salary. Employees can secure their future with immediate retirement savings including a 3% employer Deferred Profit Sharing Plan contribution and up to 5% matching on Registered Retirement Savings Plan contributions.
Travelers Europe
Travelers contributes a percentage of pensionable salary to your retirement account. The matching scheme can increase the company contribution based on employees’ additional contributions. Employees may choose from a range of investment fund options or use the plan’s default investment strategy.
Medical, dental and vision plans
Travelers offers several medical plan options, including preferred provider organization plans, a copay-based plan with clear, upfront pricing and a high deductible plan with a health savings account. The Travelers dental plan provides coverage that supports preventive, basic and major services, along with orthodontia benefits for eligible dependents. The Travelers vision plan covers routine eye exams and provides eyewear benefits.
Short/Long-term disability
Travelers provides a maximum of 13 weeks of short-term disability leave in a calendar year. The first eight weeks are paid at 100% of base salary, and the next five weeks at 80%. We also offer long-term disability benefits.
Prescription drug coverage
Employees who enroll in any of the Travelers medical plan options automatically receive prescription drug coverage.
Life/AD&D insurance
Travelers provides basic life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance to eligible employees at no cost. Employees can also purchase additional life and AD&D insurance for themselves, spouses/domestic partners and children.
Travelers Canada
Travelers offers flexible health protection with three medical plans providing drug, paramedical and out-of-country coverage up to $5 million. Employees may select from two dental plans with up to 100% coinsurance for basic services. Employees automatically receive life insurance equal to one times their salary, with optional critical illness, additional life and accidental death and dismemberment coverage available.
Travelers Europe
Travelers provides comprehensive health protection starting from day one of employment. This includes access to both permanent health insurance and private medical insurance as well as access to annual eye exams, optional dental and critical illness coverage, and company-paid life insurance.
Mental health and well-being support
Travelers offers mental health support for employees and their dependents, including eight counseling sessions, eight coaching sessions and additional resources to provide support where needed.
Health and well-being programs
Travelers offers a wide range of interactive programs available to support the physical, financial and emotional health of employees and their families.
Wellness Champions
Wellness Champions are employees selected across Travelers to promote healthy living and plan wellness activities in local offices that help colleagues prioritize their well-being.
Digital physical therapy and sleep programs
Employees enrolled in a Travelers medical plan have access to app-based physical therapy and online sleep improvement programs.
Weight management programs
Employees enrolled in a Travelers medical plan have access to a virtual medical weight loss clinic that provides individualized support to help employees achieve their weight health goals. Discounted pricing for WeightWatchers is also available.
Travelers Canada and Travelers Europe
A wide range of support for employees’ mental well-being is available to all employees, including a confidential employee assistance program with free counselling to help with everyday challenges, interactive health and well-being programs for employees and their families and local Wellness Champions who promote healthy living and plan wellness activities across offices.
Adoption assistance
Travelers reimburses employees for eligible adoption expenses, up to $10,000 per adopted child.
Childcare discounts
Travelers has negotiated discounts with several national childcare centers. We also offer a dependent care spending account that employees can use to pay for eligible childcare expenses through pre-tax payroll deductions.
Paid holidays and time off
Travelers provides paid company holidays and a competitive paid time off benefit, so employees have the flexibility they need to balance their personal and work priorities. Employees can start their career at Travelers with more than four weeks of PTO, with the option to buy even more.
Paid parental leave and caregiver support
Employees may take up to six weeks of paid leave to bond with a new child, whether through birth or adoption and can access personalized support to help with the logistical and administrative tasks of caregiving.
Travelers Canada
Travelers supports employees’ families with comprehensive family building benefits including maternity leave top-up, fertility services and surrogacy expense coverage, plus adoption assistance up to $10,000 per adopted child after one year of employment. Employees enjoy flexible paid time off starting at 20 days, increasing with tenure, for vacation, family care and personal priorities.
Travelers Europe
Travelers supports employees’ families with comprehensive leave options including maternity, paternity and adoption leave with top-up pay. Employees have access to flexible leave options including FlexDay condensed work weeks, extended unpaid leave for life events and 25 days of annual holiday that increase with length of employment.
Educational assistance
Travelers offers an Educational Assistance Program to help pay the cost of eligible classes and professional designation and certification programs, up to $5,250 each year. Travelers also offers tuition discounts at some universities.
Training/Development
